OPERA AUSTRALIA CREATES
‘MAGIC’ IN NOOSA

It’s official!

The Noosa Long Weekend Festival Director Ian Mackellar and President, Johanne Wright have today announced a major ‘coup’ to kick off this year’s festival.

For the first time ever, Opera Australia will bring a fully staged production of its much loved Opera, “The Magic Flute” to the Sunshine Coast.

Direct from Melbourne, the professional cast and orchestra complete with an authentic Egyptian tomb set, lighting, costumes and wigs will perform one night only, on Tuesday July 14.

The ancient tombs of the Pharaohs hide many secrets. Will Tamino the daring archaeologist find them? Will it be Papageno, the zany orinithologist? Or will the forces of evil crack the code, find the treasure and get the girl? Find out when Opera Australia presents The Magic Flute, a ripping yarn for the whole family, all wrapped up in the miraculous music of Mozart.

Director, Adaptor and Translator: Michel Gow
Designer: Robert Kemp
