Media information
Journalists wishing to attend to report on The Noosa Longweekend 2008 are welcomed as invited guests.
Out of town journalists are encouraged to contact our Festival Media Manager, Cathy Reade on 07 54483095, 0413 575 934 or creade@squirrel.com.au and local media can also contact our Local Media Manager Casey Macneil on 07 5446 6945, 0402 993 688 or casey@macneil.com.au
This website contains plenty of background information on The Noosa Longweekend, its genesis and history, as well as information on 2008 artists and descriptions of this year’s events.
If you are likely to attend any events, we ask that you please complete our media registration which is outlined below with the required form. This will enable you to receive a Media Perch Pass that will provide you free access to most events on the understanding that you will be reporting on the performance. It will also provide us with an idea of numbers and assist us to help you get the best out of your attendance.
Below is a range of materials including releases, a photo gallery from past events, contacts for footage of past events, photos and footage from the 2008 festival as they are available, and the media registration form so that you are able to attend a range of festival events at no cost.
We certainly hope you enjoy your Noosa Longweekend experience and would welcome feedback on any coverage you provide for our event or any problems you experienced as a journalist in attendance.

Media Registration
We ask that journalists wishing to attend events that are not free to please register their intention to do so by completing a registration for accreditation form (see below).
This arrangement is in response to the festival’s exponential growth, increasing media interest and the limited size of some venues. If you would like to arrange a more personal interview with any of the festival guests you are most welcome to do so by contacting the Festival Media Manager Cathy Reade on 07 54483095 / 0413 575 934 or creade@squirrel.com.au
If you are unsure of which events you wish to attend and therefore are unable to complete that section of the registration form, we ask that you contact Cathy prior to an event so that we can ensure that there will be room at smaller venues. In most instances, there will not be a problem but we must check with venues ahead of the event.
Please complete (and return by fax on 07 54483095 or email to creade@squirrel.com.au) a registration for accreditation form available here or call Cathy Reade, the Festival Media Manager on 0413 575 934 who can fax or email you a copy.
Following registration, you will be able to collect or have posted to you a Media Perch Pass which will allow you access to each event. Passes are checked by volunteers who take their job of checking tickets and passes very seriously, so we recommend you register and carry your Media Perch Pass with you to events to avoid any problems.
In addition to receiving your Media Perch Pass, registration means you will receive updates on festival developments and press releases distributed before and during the festival. You will also be notified about the range of media events planned such as the opening media launch and any press conferences with festival personnel or headline personalities.
What do you get with a Media Perch Pass?
Depending on the event you are wishing to attend, your Media Perch Pass allows you an opportunity to 'perch' up the back of the venue. Where possible, we will do our best to provide you with a seat!
Journalists with a Media Perch Pass attending specific food or blended food/art events will not necessarily be catered for, due to very limited tickets for restaurant venues. However, if you’d like to attend in order to do a food review, you are welcome to make contact with Cathy for that purpose and she will make an effort to make that possible.
Photo opportunities will be possible at most events but again we ask that the photographer be registered and that we be notified of a photographer's intention to attend a particular event for the purpose of taking photographs so this can be checked with the artists/restaurants involved.
